There is nothing better than warm banana bread with a little slab of butter! Here's the recipe that my grandma used for banana bread.
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs (unbeaten)
3 Tbsp milk
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 c. flour
2 medium mashed bananas
1/4 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Then, beat the sugar and shortening. Next, add the eggs and milk. Stir in flour, salt and soda, alternating with mashed bananas. Bake in greased loaf pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Recipe yields 1 loaf.
