Manic Monday Recipe~ Giant Soft Pretzels With Yummy Spread

Oh my goodness, these are some tasty pretzels!  I have been making these pretzels for many years now, they make a great dish for a party or those Sunday night games!  The recipe is from the 2002 Taste of Home Annual Recipe Cook Book.  Make sure to continue reading for a wonderful Cinnamon Cream Cheese Dip to spread over these yummy pretzels.

Also, Make sure to come back on Wednesday for my Share the Wealth Wednesday Link Party!

Ingredients:

1 C. and 2 Tbsp. Warm Water (Between 70 degrees and 80 degrees)

3 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
1 & 1/2 tsp. Active Dry Yeast
3 C. All Purpose Flour
2 Quarts Water
1/2 C. Baking Soda
Kosher Salt

Directions:

In your mixer, place the first three ingredients.  Slowly add the flour on a low speed.

Mix for about 5 minutes, or until the dough forms a ball.

When finished, place ball of dough onto a lightly floured surface.  Divide dough into 12 balls. (Recipe calls for 8, but making 12 makes nice sized pretzels.)  Roll each ball into a rope and form into a pretzel.

In a saucepan, bring water and baking soda to a boil.  Drop each pretzel into boiling water for 10-15 seconds.  Remove with a slotted spoon, and drain on a towel.

Place pretzels on a greased baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

Spritz lightly with water and sprinkle with salt.
