How to Create Poppy Flower Hair Clips

I have seen these beautiful hair clips all over the internet, but haven't figured out how to make them.  Well, I found a great website this weekend called Brown Paper Packages.  She has some great DIY projects and the poppy hair clip directions!  It was super easy, and not much "craftistic" ability is needed!

Supplies:
Glue Gun
Scissors
Satin/Silk
Felt
Alligator Clip
Craft Brads
Foam Paper (I add this to all of my hair clips, it helps hold the hair tighter while still being gentle.)
Lighter/Matches
Instructions:
~Cut out circles from your fabric in large to smaller sizes.  Kierste recommends three, but I made one with four and one with six.  You'll want to make sure that your biggest circle is able to cover the alligator clip.  These circles do not have to be perfect, I promise, just your best circle.  The teacher in me wants to tell you a little trick.  Cut your fabric into squares and then round off the corners.

~Then take your lighter/match and make the flame.  You will then carefully put the fabric edge right up to the flame.  The fabric doesn't need to touch the flame, just get it close enough to where the fabric starts to melt/curl up.  Make sure to melt all the way around the circle, and the repeat with your other circles.

~Next, place your circles in order from largest to smallest and poke the crafting brad through the middle of each one.  Open the brad, and then hot glue a small circle of felt over it.

~Once you have the felt on the bottom of your flower, hot glue your alligator clip to it.

~Then I like to add a little more glue to the top inside of alligator clip and place the foam on it.

~The bottom of the clip should look like this:

~And the top should look like this:
Enjoy!
