DIY Bunny Bows

I was looking for some inspiration on some Easter/Spring hair clips and found the blog Ten Cow Chick who had a tutorial on how to make Bunny Clips.  So I decided to create the same one and try a different approach.  The tutorial gives a great way to make the bunny clip for toddlers, but if you have an infant with hair, it might be too big.  So I made a smaller one.  And as always, if you don't have the time, or just don't want to try making it, you can purchase it at my Etsy shop.
Here's my go at it...

 Materials For Large Bunny
2 different colors of 3/8 in. Ribbon
Embellishment for eyes/googly eyes
Hot Glue Gun
1/8 in. Ribbon

Directions:First you'll cut 4 pieces of ribbon 4 inches long, I used pink and white.  Then you'll take one end of the pink and glue it on top of one of the white.  (Just a small dot, leaving the other ends free.) Then loop them together by creating a small tear drop.  On my picture below, I made the tear drop too wide, to make the bunny ears more slender, you'll glue the bottom of the ribbons together.  Does that make sense?  Let me know if you need more clarification!

Next, cut five strips of ribbon in 6, 5.5, 5, 4.5, and 4 inches.  You will loop these together like the picture above, where the side of one ribbon hits the bottom.

Glue those five loops together like this.  Disregard the clip underneath, I will tell you when to do that in a bit.

Next, we'll make the face.  Cut a piece of pink ribbon about two inches long.  Loop them together the same way to make a tear drop, and then glue the top two corners down make a flat piece like the one shown below.

Then glue your two embellishments on for the eyes.

Next, make a small bow, by cutting the 1/8th in ribbon into a length of 5 in.  Tie a small bow and trim the edges to make it a very small bow.  If you need help tying a bow, check out my tutorial here.

Now take your alligator clip and about a 7 inch ribbon and glue them together.  I start gluing by putting the end of the ribbon into the alligator clip and closing it.  Then I place glue in the center line where the ribbon is exposed.  Next I close the ribbon over and squeeze the two pieces of ribbon together forming a tight bond. Then I continue gluing.

Now you'll have all of these parts: to glue together.

Glue in this order,

Materials for Small Bunny
different colors of 3/8 in. Ribbon
Alligator clip
Embelishment for eyes/googly eyes
Hot Glue Gun

1/8 in. Ribbon

Directions:

First, Cut two pieces of ribbon at about 6 inches (it will be easier than with the 5.5 inches that I used)

Next, make a ribbon that looks like a rememberance ribbon.  Don't forget to glue each part down to each other.

Next, glue the ears back by making a little loop on the end.

Continue by creating a face like the one for the larger bunny using a length of about 2 inches.
Next, glue each piece onto the alligator clip.

I'd love to see your finished products and read your comments!  Make sure to check out all of my other tutorials here, and follow me on Twitter and Facebook!
